I came to visit a friend and wanted to bring my children and my Mum. I went for good value and a pool. Th St. Ives delivered on both but we were also delighted by the friendliness of the staff. The restaurant was great value and the kids adored helping them selves for dinner and at breakfast. Gemma enjoyed the arst and crafts room which was nice to see a hoteld dedicatinmg a room just for the kids to enjoy activities. I think ourt favourite was the pool and sauna which we spent evey evening in unbtil we fell into our beds - happy and well fed!! (Kids ages - 13 & 9) A very pleasant 3 night stay, great location and lovely people.
I think the only thing that could be improved on is a supply of drinking water in the rooms and maybe shampoo and other toiletries - this is the one thing missing from from a hotel with more stars.
very good value for money and right on the sandy beach
needs comfortable beds and bed linen renewing and the bedrooms need updating. there was no hot water available in our room - very poor!
Good facilities for young children, great little swimming pool with sauna
The rooms needed to be updated , the decor a little worn
The childrens entertainment programme was outstanding, they were occupied from the moment we arrived and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Food during evening meal could've been nicer and the baby listening service wasn't working at the time of our stay which we would've used had it been.
Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable atmosphere, Choice of food excellent, Facilities Massage, swimming, Blackburn memorbilia!!
facilities(pool),breakfast was excellent.
room was a bit tired, bed not good.
It has an excellent location on the seafront at St Annes-on-Sea and it is very close to all the town's facilities, including the shops, the cinema and the pier.
loved this hotel, just a shame we were only there for one night. was a little worried that i may be too far away from pleasure beach & nightlife, however, it was 10 minutes on a bus to p.beach, and cost around £15 for a minibus into town! the bus stop is just around the corner, breakfast was lovely, and staff at reception were very helpful! our group was 7 girls aged 20-21.
The hotel is like a mini complex all of its own, plenty to do and keep you entertained. The swimming pool and sauna were a real treat. This hotel suited my disabled father and very young granddaughter equally well. Great location. Was chosen for its lift and level access. The reception staff were very helpful, friendly and dealt with requests when asked.
Occasional evening entertainment was poor and on the brink of being offensive. When the one individual returned for another night we went elsewhere! The price jumped up for the bank holiday weekend.
we only stayed 1 night but found the staff friendly and polite the breakfast was very good on par with cruise cruisine .The room was spotless and quiet at night.
The only thing we found unpleasant were the children running about at night in the show room and lounge area. We would have liked somewhere to have a drink in peace.
wonderful staff, relaxing atmosphere, good food although not hot enough if you ate after 6.30. Near to beach, cheap drinks at bar, good entertainment at night
our room was far too small, 67 but looked at some others which looked great
children love the st ives hotel and this is the main reason why we return time after time. the hotel (especially staff) have definately improved over the past couple of years.
the allocated room on this stay was directly above the ballroom so very noisy.
the choices of the food were good the buffet service also good the location of the hotel was excellent
why was there no adult entertainment?
Staff were very friendly, good location and my children loved the entertainment on the saturday night would definitely go back.
